Studio Workshop: Drawing Materials and Techniques

Teaching artist Phil Jasen will lead a four-part series of studio-based courses (January 2, 9, 16 and 23) presented in conjunction with the exhibition “Master, Pupil, Follower: 16th- to 18th-Century Italian Works on Paper.” This course will explore the tools, techniques and styles of the Italian regional schools. The class will work with inks, from loose gestural washes to descriptive penmanship, as well as charcoal, chalk and toned paper. Some classes will work from live models. Artists from all backgrounds are encouraged to attend. A $15 materials fee covers all necessary supplies for the workshop.
