One of the nicest things since the museum reopened in August has been seeing feedback coming in every time we send out surveys to folks who have reserved tickets and checked in. Not only does that feedback allow us to address issues quickly when they occur, but your overwhelmingly positive reactions to what we’ve been doing provide us with fuel to keep going.
Dale L. Couch, the Georgia Museum of Art’s curator of decorative art and director of the Henry D. Green Center for the Study of the Decorative Arts, will officially retire this year (at the end of February) after 11 years with the museum.
I joined the staff of the Georgia Museum of Art in April 2016, shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia’s sculpture program, in December 2015. After a year on the floor as a gallery guide I transitioned to my current supervisory position, overseeing scheduling, training and records management for the security department. I wanted to get more involved with the museum and further my education in the field. Once UGA announced a new Museum Studies program in collaboration with the museum’s education department, I enthusiastically enrolled in the program.

Gabriella Victorio is joining the Georgia Museum of Art as the new Parker Research Assistant. Victorio is the museum's first Parker Foundation Fellowship recipient. Before receiving the fellowship, Victorio was a curatorial intern under Asen Kirin, the museum's Parker Curator of Russian Art.
Coatus Lee Morehead, known by all as “C.L.”, died on July 18, 2020. With his leaving us, a chapter in the Georgia Museum of Art’s history closed as another opened.
De Scott Evans (1847 — 1898), born David Scott Evans, was a 19th century artist. He was known during his lifetime for his genre paintings as well as portraits.
